NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde has started their implementation of BadgerNet Maternity. As one of the largest maternity services in the UK, Glasgow has a unique set of challenges relating to the complexity and diversity of care across all of the west coast of Scotland. It has been really exciting to learn about their services and look and creating a full paperless solution across maternity. The implementation is looking at going live using the BadgerNet on laptops in the community and using the desktop and iPad for full intrapartum care and in unit events across all of the sites.
With Glasgow joining with the majority of Scottish units using BadgerNet Maternity, by the end of 2017 the vast majority of births in Scotland will be entered into BadgerNet, allowing for the creation of a single pregnancy record across the country. The joining up of care and better provision of information to all clinicians looking after the women will provide vast benefits across the country.
BadgerNet Maternity go live for NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is scheduled for November 2017
